Anna M. Fulling Community Chaplaincy
The Anna M. Fulling Community Chaplaincy was established by Lewis Fox to honor the memory of Anna Fulling, a housekeeper for the prominent Fox family. In her last days, Miss Fulling was cared for at home and in the hospital by The Reverend Dr. Bernard Drew, Senior Minister at Asylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford, where she had been a life-long parishioner. Because Miss Fulling had been a surrogate mother figure to Mr. Fox, and because Mr. Fox was impressed with the ministry to her by Dr. Drew in her last days, Mr. Fox established the Anna M. Fulling Trust.
Income from the Anna M. Fulling Trust is directed to be used by the Conference of Churches (formerly the Greater Hartford Council of Churches), to establish a Protestant chaplaincy at Hartford-area hospitals.
The current Anna M. Fulling Chaplin is Rev. Kennedy Hampton. Rev. Hampton provides spiritual support, outreach and education services to individuals at area hospitals, as well as their families and faith leaders.
