Aerial Yoga joins traditional yoga and the aerial arts creating an integrated practice using the circus hammock to partially or fully support the body in traditional yoga postures. Aerial yoga classes flow between floor and aerial postures promoting strength, power, freedom, relaxation and grace."
Jayne is a 200-hour Kripalu certified yoga instructor, a certified Shake Your Soul yoga dance instructor and a certified expressive movement therapist. She completed her training in UnnataÒ Aerial Yoga in June 2013. Jayne is a circus enthusiast training in the flying trapeze and aerial silks for the past 14 years. Jayne’s classes encourage students to attune with their unique vibration, balancing effort and ease and bringing awareness to the entire body.
Jayne is a teacher/guide/mentor and life-long student. Over the years, Jayne has developed and refined her approach to healing and transformation through movement, dance, yoga and somatic psychotherapy. She is a spiritual director and a psychotherapist with over 24 years of experience.
Foundations & Mixed Level Aerial Yoga Deepen your aerial-floor practice. Experience more advanced aerial postures. Utilize longer held postures with many options to modify creating a more or less energizing and strenuous practice as needed. Experience time to “play” and explore the postures from within as we explore our inner landscape in concert with physical postures. Discover the joy of moving from the inside out. Learn to listen and trust the body’s wisdom as we awake the internal teacher. Pre-Requisite: None
Aerial Yoga – Active FlowA dynamic, fast paced class emphasizing movement and flow between aerial postures and traditional floor postures. Options to modify are offered throughout class to create a more or less strenuous practice as desired. This class offers a low-impact cardio workout, aerial core work and time to “play” and explore aerial inversions.Pre-Requisite: Must be able to enter and release from hip hang and back straddle on your own. Students must have taken at least one Foundations class prior to taking this class.

The Conference of Churches works closely with community leaders and organziations to work toward health equity. Our current project with the Connecticut Health Foundation is to determine appropriate public health messaging so as to come closer to the goal of health equity in the state of Connecticut.
